Candy Crazy

One busy Saturday night, a table of 6 30s-50 year olds come in screeching. It was annoying but the DJ was on so I was expecting people to be a bit rowdy and all over the place by this point.

They start ordering their drinks and one man is leaning over my bar and slurring and I hear a woman walk past him and attempt to whisper ‘you need to calm down, you’re acting way too drunk’, which of course was loud and clear from where I was standing.

So I mention it to the other bartender that was on with me, we decide to do one round and see how it goes with this guy. Well, half way through this, I’m making cocktails for a different table, and while my back is turned, the waitress sees this man stealing the decoration sweets off the little plates we send out with the drinks, along with the ones straight out of the garnish jars. We decided then and there to stop serving him.

He comes over to the bar 10 minutes later and asks for a pint, I say no, the other bartender says no. He gets pissed, goes back to his table. Another guy tries to order for him and we say ‘not if you’re trying to buy for your friend’. Finally, a woman comes up, screaming about how we’re ruining her birthday (we knew this woman, she claims her birthday is every week to try and get free drinks) and how she knows the owner and she’s gonna get us all fired. (Owner checked the cameras, no idea who that woman is)

The man we refused to serve starts screaming that he’s a ‘well established man’ in the town I live in and he has ‘2 successful businesses’ and we’re ‘wrong to make an enemy out of him’. (Later found out he runs the local shit hole car wash)

Entitlement if I’ve ever seen it
